  7.     He may be only 40, but Arthur Ochs Sulzberger Jr. already
  8. has all the qualifications to be publisher of the New York
  9. Times: 13 years at the paper as reporter, corporate planner,
  10. deputy publisher -- and the fact that three generations of his
  11. family had the job before him. Last week Arthur the Elder, known
  12. as "Punch," passed the scepter to his son, who does not like to
  13. be known as "Pinch" ("Nobody uses it to my face twice"). The new
  14. publisher, who has a casual style and humor, will still report
  15. to Dad, head of the paper's parent company.
